Oakwood Laboratories is looking to add to their Analytical Chemistry Team!

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in advancing their career at a technology-based pharmaceutical company. You will develop, validate, and utilize methods to analyze excipients, polymers, active ingredients, and finished pharmaceutical products utilizing advanced analytical instrumentation. You will work as part of small multi-disciplinary technical teams on sustained release injectable drug development projects in various stages of development including early proof of concept, supporting pharmacokinetic and clinical studies, technical transfer activities, and supporting commercial product manufacturing. You will have direct input on solving complex problems and contributing to project success. Essential job functions include:

  • Perform both routine analyses and method development/validation using analytical instrumentation such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), particle size analysis with laser diffraction and optical imaging
  • Perform in vitro dissolution testing and method development/validation
  • Present analytical results and recommendations in product development team meetings
  • Collaborate with team members from multiple departments within the company and with external clients to achieve project and company goals
  • Work in an FDA-regulated environment and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Attributes required include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related discipline with 5 - 10 years analytical laboratory experience or
  • Master's degree in chemistry, biology, or related discipline with 3 - 5 years analytical laboratory experience or
  • PhD in chemistry, biology, or related discipline with 1 – 3 years analytical laboratory experience
  • Desire to learn and grow within a team-oriented environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently to meet company deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to lead project teams and mentor junior analysts
