About the Role

As our WordPress Developer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining powerful WordPress-based platforms that support our e-commerce initiatives and integrate with healthcare services as needed. This is a hybrid position-much of your work can be done remotely, with some on-site collaboration for key projects and team alignment.

You'll collaborate closely with designers and marketers to craft an online environment that efficiently handles e-commerce functionality while meeting unique technical and security demands within the healthcare context. Our ideal candidate loves problem-solving, adapts quickly to changing requirements, and is passionate about delivering accessible, user-friendly solutions that improve people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress & WooCommerce Development

• Install, configure, and maintain WordPress core, themes, and plugins (e.g. Wordfence, WP Rocket, Yoast SEO, Finale, WooCommerce Subscriptions).
• Develop custom features and integrations for membership, recurring billing, and healthcare-related needs.

Payment Gateways & Financing

• Set up and manage multiple payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) and BNPL/financing integrations (Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay, etc.).
• Ensure secure, optimized checkout flows that enhance the customer experience.

Shipping & Fulfillment

• Configure and maintain ShipStation or similar platforms for logistics, including return (RMA) processes.
• Oversee custom workflows for healthcare product distribution.

Performance & Security

• Optimize site speed using caching/CDN (WP Rocket, Cloudflare) and image optimization (Smush, ShortPixel).
• Implement security best practices (Wordfence, Sucuri) and maintain backup solutions (UpdraftPlus).
• Help ensure HIPAA-adherent data handling where relevant.

CRM & Marketing Automation

• Integrate CRM/email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot) for patient/consumer engagement.
• Set up forms (Gravity Forms, WPForms) and funnels (CartFlows, WooFunnels) to capture leads and coordinate messaging.

Analytics & Tracking

• Implement Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and other tracking scripts to support data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing on A/B testing and CRO tools (Hotjar, Crazy Egg).

Theme & Frontend Customization

• Build or customize WordPress themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Utilize page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder) to ensure a seamless, responsive user experience.

Support & Collaboration

• Troubleshoot technical issues; work with customer support platforms (Zendesk, Help Scout) for timely resolution.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, product, marketing) to ensure alignment on project goals.

Qualifications

Proven Experience: 3+ years of professional WordPress development, with a strong focus on WooCommerce.

Technical Proficiency:

• Strong grasp of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery.
• Experience with version control (Git) and modern deployment workflows.
• API integration experience for external payment gateways, shipping, or healthcare services.

E-Commerce Background:

• Thorough knowledge of e-commerce best practices, checkout flows, and subscription models.

Performance & Security:

• Skilled in caching, CDNs, and security auditing.
• Understanding of data protection and encryption.

• Analytics & Tracking:

• Comfortable setting up GA4, Tag Manager, or other tracking/pixel scripts for accurate data collection.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with membership and LMS plugins (e.g., MemberPress, LearnDash) to build patient education or wellness portals.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting integrations (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) or HIPAA-compliant CRMs.
• SEO knowledge (Yoast SEO, Rank Math).
• Marketing automation experience (ActiveCampaign, Keap) or funnel builders (CartFlows, WooFunnels).
• Background in UI/UX best practices, A/B testing, and CRO.
