Position Summary

We are seeking an organized, people-focused HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department in providing excellent service to employees and leadership. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new processes, and helping create a positive and efficient workplace experience.

Hybrid Role - Eugene, OR
Full-Time • Benefit Eligible
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Compensation: $21/hour
This position works both remotely and in-person. Candidates must be willing to work on-site as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in an HR role or administrative position

  • Criminal Background check conducted by the Department of Human Services Background Check Unit

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Support new hire onboarding and orientation, including background checks, documentation, and system setup
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment changes, eligibility tracking, and employee support
  • Assist with employee leave management and documentation
  • Maintain HR records and databases with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with recruitment tasks such as posting job ads, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Support HR compliance efforts through documentation, data tracking, and internal communication
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely, professional, and helpful manner
  • Provide administrative support to HR projects, trainings, and policy implementation
Skills & Abilities
  • Customer-service mindset with patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in using computer systems including Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision of day-to-day tasks
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Comfortable learning new systems, procedures, and HR compliance practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
